The third game in the Witcher series returns Geralt of Rivia to the Northern Kingdoms in the midst of an invasion by the brutal Empire of Nilfgaard. Gameplay is a mix of action-based combat and role-playing, with players using their abilities as a Witcher (a monster hunter for hire) to create potions that temporarily give them superhuman abilities.

Players who have played through the previous Witcher games can import their saved character, and their decisions in the previous games will shape the direction of the world and story of The Witcher 3. A huge open world offers multiple branching story paths and potential endings to Geralt's tale.
